Résumé

"L’art comme expérience informelle"

Français : De la définition « en besogne » d'« informe » donnée par Georges Bataille dans le numéro 7 de la revue « Documents », en décembre 1929, à Tree de Paul McCarthy sur la place Vendôme (octobre 2014), en passant par Jean Fautrier et Carolee Scheemann, il s'agit ici de comprendre en quoi l'art s'est voulu informel pour permettre une expérience « informelle » (c'est-à-dire non-institutionnelle) de l'art. C'est le paradoxe d'une expérience esthétique critique envers la société et pourtant permise par elle qui est interrogé ici. Un art informel se présenterait alors, hier comme aujourd'hui, comme une mise à mal de tout « programme » – une « déprogrammation ».

English: This paper aims to shed light on the paradox of an aesthetic experience as critical of society and yet allowed by it. From the definition of "inform" given by Georges Bataille in the review "Documents" (December 1929), to Tree by Paul McCarthy on the Place Vendôme (October 2014), from Jean Fautrier to Carolee Scheemann, I will show how art has attempted to become “informal” in order to allow an "informal" (ie non-institutional) experience of art. Informal art, so, should be understood as a deprogramming (“déprogrammation”).
